Potomac Soccer is proud to partner with Wear Blue Run to Remember for our 2019 Memorial Tournament. Memorial Day is a time for us to come together, as a nation, to remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. As we play this weekend, let us do so in honor of all fallen service members.
Wear Blue is a non profit organization founded by Lisa Hallet, a Gold Star Spouse. Their vision is to create globally recognized running communities that honor and preserve the legacy of fallen service members. They unite and support military and their families, veterans, Gold Star families and civilians through active remembrance and meaningful relationships. As an all-volunteer organization, every dollar donated is funneled back into funding their mission and executing their programs.
We are encouraging each team to make a donation of $50 (or more, if desired) to support the mission of Wear Blue. Donations are tax deductible and can made using the following link. Teams can choose to simply make a one time donation, or create a sub-fundraising page to share with players and families.
It is our goal to convert the miles run on our soccer fields into those of remembrance. Your participation will not only help us to support our fallen heroes and their families, but also to bring awareness to their sacrifices.
